And now here is the second part of Heather and Tibaut’s ranch wedding, from the cocktail hour into the wee morning hours.

Cocktail hour was kicked off in a nearby grove of trees by three specialty cocktails — a Michelada for the groom, Pear-Lavender Lemonade for the bride, and a Kickin’ Mule, alongside the couple’s favorite Brooklyn and Texas beers. As the sun set into twilight, guests mingled and enjoyed the view, munching on upscale takes on Southern and Tex-Mex inspired appetizers and listening to a Texan bluegrass band.

Guests were invited into the open-air barn nearby via a candlelit path for dinner, which was served family style at five rows of 100-foot long tables. Low florals, and an abundance of candlelight complimented the rows of festoon lights that created a warm ambiance that spilled out of the barn and into the night beyond.

While a fireworks display after the last song signaled the end of the reception (and guests were invited to a late night snack of coffee and donuts in to-go containers), a late night after party awaited. Guests danced late into the night, with the bridal party collapsing into a Shelter & Co-outfitted “tent city” in the wee hours of the morning.

It was a weekend that saw two families, steeped in Texas heritage, come together and enjoy the land that they love the most while celebrating Heather and Tibaut in marriage. It was a celebration that was only eclipsed by the breakfast tacos served the next morning to those in Tent City, which is, really, the only way to wake up here in Texas.

Let’s be honest: registering should feel fun…but for most couples, it quickly becomes one more decision in a sea of decisions. What do you actually need? What will you truly use?Are you supposed to register for “grown-up” things? And what happens if you… don’t? Take a breath. Here’s everything you actually need to know, without the pressure, outdated […]

Some venues have that “wedding factory” vibe.Oceana’s Garden doesn’t—in fact, it feels like a hidden world right next to downtown Boulder. The property unfolds in the best way, and feels more like stepping into someone’s personal sanctuary rather than entering a wedding venue that churns out events each weekend. For couples who want a wedding […]
