April in Review

It’s been a busy [and incredibly productive] April! Texas Ranch Tented Wedding // by The Nouveau Romantics Our spring wedding season arrived with two much-anticipated weddings at the beginning of the month. The first was an incredible wedding for family and friends on a Fredericksburg ranch that saw a huge wisteria installation, tent full of gorgeous candlelight, and a dance floor that didn’t end until The Flashdance closed down the after party at 3am. The team that came in to help was top notch, and included a bevy of fine floral helpers that relentlessly processed box after box of lilac, ranunculus, hellebores and clematis. Many many thanks to Liza, Aviva, Alicia, Brittany, Maurine, Maggie, Amber, as well as our chipper and perpetually happy planning and decor team of Heather, Breanne, Tiva, Caitlin, Jaime, and Rachel! Texas Spring Wedding at Le San Michele // by The Nouveau Romantics Image by the lovely and talented Heather Hawkins. Our next wedding for Rachel and James saw the hint of rain, but that beautiful Sperry tent at Le San Michele saved the day. It was a sweet celebration, full of family-style food, enthusiastic dancing, and our favourite flower-dog to date: Callie the mastif. Baby Shower at the Hotel Saint Cecilia // by The Nouveau Romantics We also planned a baby shower for right hand floral lady, Christy, who is due in June with her first baby boy. It was a blast planning with her family in Dallas, and we turned the back of Suite 4 at the Hotel St. Cecilia into a wonderland of blues and yellows — complete with papel picado and gigantic balloons. It was all baby boy, full throttle, and we’ll be the first to admit that it was a lot of great to just have fun with it! [Word to the wise: balloons make both the kids and adults really happy. Crowd-pleasers!] Other notes from the month: TNR is expanding with an office in NYC! More information soon. East Coast brides – chat us up! Heather and Tibaut’s epic ranch wedding from last spring is up on Green Wedding Shoes in two parts! One for the books, for sure. Liz is heading to CAMP – a conference for creatives – outside of LA at the end of May. Is anyone heading there? I’m excited for campfires, inspiring talks, s’mores, and that dance party! And finally, our hilarious yet patient studio manager / social media gal Caitlin has left us for the greener hills of her home state of Illinois. We’re going to miss her plenty, and hopefully will get her back to Austin for some weddings in the future. That girl can pack a truck like no one else. We’re pretty excited for what May is holding for us, especially for a little R&R!

Honestly, there is little better than designing to the historically marvelous and detailed interiors at The Perry Belmont House in DC, and our late fall dinner party-turned-boudoir-inspired revelry did not disappoint. As big art patrons and collectors, J&S came to us looking for guidance on where their wedding celebration ought to take place. Considering spots […]

When we received word that the mother of the groom was set on using The Adolphus Hotel in Dallas as the scene for the welcome dinner for guests of C & C’s late January wedding, we were beyond excited. We’ve been huge fans of the elegant, light-filled 19th Floor Ballroom (also known as The Governor’s […]

As one of the first and often most important decisions, your venue sets the tone for both your wedding as well as your to-do list for your planning journey. While your venue may or may not be the same for both your ceremony and reception, there are practical considerations such as inclusions (rentals, etc) or […]
