Vendor Friends // The Flashdance Interview

Michael Antonia is The Flashdance // L.A. DJ Interview // Vendor Friends

I love to hear how fellow vendor friends found themselves in the event industry, and how all of our diverse backgrounds lend a hand in making what we do for our clients unique and different. The Define Journal’s interview with  Michael Antonia – the brains behind The Flashdance moniker, head DJ, and all around notorious dance-party-maker – is a refreshing look at how someone’s love of music, and long journey into the wedding world has ended with:

“it makes me feel pretty awesome to say that I own three companies, work with my best friends, and make people TRULY happy every weekend.”

[FYI: he’s the owner of Yeah Rentals and Yeah Weddings, along with The Flashdance collaborative of DJs, some of the best around.]

We’ve got him on the books for a wedding this coming Spring, and I am so excited that Texas folks will finally have the chance to hear The Flashdance live. Even my husband was stunned to hear him warm-up at The Cream Austin and at Britney and Chris’ San Antonio wedding — he gives you goosebumps, and that doesn’t happen often.

Also, this:

“To find new ideas that work, you need to try a lot that don’t. It’s a pure numbers game.” – Robert Sutton via The Define Journal, Michael Antonia interview.

Some good life advice.

Where Guest Experience, Design Possibilities, and Weekend Magic Meet If you’re searching for a Denver wedding venue and hoping for something that’s more elevated than expected—less wedding factory, more once-in-a-lifetime—you’re not alone. After a decade of planning destination weddings across the U.S., Mexico, and Europe, I approach venues with a very specific lens: These are […]

Honestly, there is little better than designing to the historically marvelous and detailed interiors at The Perry Belmont House in DC, and our late fall dinner party-turned-boudoir-inspired revelry did not disappoint. As big art patrons and collectors, J&S came to us looking for guidance on where their wedding celebration ought to take place. Considering spots […]

When we received word that the mother of the groom was set on using The Adolphus Hotel in Dallas as the scene for the welcome dinner for guests of C & C’s late January wedding, we were beyond excited. We’ve been huge fans of the elegant, light-filled 19th Floor Ballroom (also known as The Governor’s […]
