Travels // East, West, and Abroad

I’m overdue for this post. Here are some snaps from my trip to NY in … June! These were just some that I snapped around town that made it into the archives. Specifically, I’m perpetually on the hunt for interesting installations, beautiful interiors, and delicious food. ABC Home and Carpet always delivers, as does their new restaurant ABC Kitchen. Go, eat, relish.

The last image was just down the street from my very first NYC apartment [Peach Arrow. I’m happy to see that they still haven’t finished the “hotel” that was started in Summer 2006]:

Other trips include: heading to San Francisco to celebrate one of my bestest’s 30th birthday next week. She’s one of the most perfect partners to eat and tool around town, and I’m looking forward to some major puttering, and brunching, and hunting down cocktails. I’m even due to get a peek at the world’s cutest set of cheeks in the world, not to mention hang with her stylish mama.

Of course there’s a stop at one of the most beautiful ribbon stores in the world, which should bode well for my spring brides. Taking orders!

Finally, we actually bit the bullet and ordered tickets to Europe/Morocco for next March. As mentioned before, my little brother is getting married in Marrakesh, and they’ve invited family only and gifted them a week at this beautiful place:

We’re making an epic trip of it and taking 18 days off to spend the first week in Paris and Madrid, then heading down to Marrakech, and then a couple of days back in Paris or a surrounding area. I’m so proud of ML and I for taking the leap and actually investing in these tickets, as we tend to go on the “nah, we should save some money and just stay local/roadtrip” — and there is so much history and art and architecture that I’ve really dug into the last couple of years. I’m so jazzed to see it with these new eyes.

Anyone have any recommendations for any of these spots!? Specifically Madrid as I’m planning that portion from scratch…

Honestly, there is little better than designing to the historically marvelous and detailed interiors at The Perry Belmont House in DC, and our late fall dinner party-turned-boudoir-inspired revelry did not disappoint. As big art patrons and collectors, J&S came to us looking for guidance on where their wedding celebration ought to take place. Considering spots […]

When we received word that the mother of the groom was set on using The Adolphus Hotel in Dallas as the scene for the welcome dinner for guests of C & C’s late January wedding, we were beyond excited. We’ve been huge fans of the elegant, light-filled 19th Floor Ballroom (also known as The Governor’s […]

As one of the first and often most important decisions, your venue sets the tone for both your wedding as well as your to-do list for your planning journey. While your venue may or may not be the same for both your ceremony and reception, there are practical considerations such as inclusions (rentals, etc) or […]
