To Corsage or Not to Corsage?

Complete discretion: I do not particularly enjoy the wrist corsage. Something about awful memories from high school formals, or how awkward it is to eat whilst donning a pouf of flowers, and many other relevent points, has pinned me neatly into those who prefer to ‘offer alternatives’. Often on the wedding [or other important days] it’s nice to give important ladies in our lives something to represent our appreciation of them, there are most definitely other options to offer!

First up, and my perennial favourite: the posie, or nosegay. Also known as: merely a small hand-held bouquet. Easily re-purposed into a glass at the dinner table or for reception decor, and generally quite affordable:

Next is the single stem, preferably with a fabulous specimen that takes the cake. [Top: Once Wed; Bottom: Weddingbee] Also easily re-purposed, and quite affordable.

Finally, I confess – I’ve witnessed one pinned corsage that actually interests me. It probably has to do with the lack of voluminous florals, without a sprig of baby’s breath [which can do wonderful things in particular instances], and just like so:

So there you have it. Any burning thoughts, opinions?

As big art patrons and collectors, J&S came to us looking for guidance on where their wedding celebration ought to take place. Considering spots […]

When we received word that the mother of the groom was set on using The Adolphus Hotel in Dallas as the scene for the welcome dinner for guests of C & C’s late January wedding, we were beyond excited. We’ve been huge fans of the elegant, light-filled 19th Floor Ballroom (also known as The Governor’s […]

While your venue may or may not be the same for both your ceremony and reception, there are practical considerations such as inclusions (rentals, etc) or […]
