We survived a busy weekend that saw a double header, a monster rain storm, and plenty of logistics to keep us on our toes. A Friday wedding with Mayhar Design at Barr Mansion had us installing wedding flowers in a deep and dramatic palette of berry pinks, deep plums, and vibrant reds — I loved how this turned out, and it felt like the perfect way to usher in the fall season.
Saturday saw our good friends Laine and Devin tie the knot at Vuka Co-op, a co-working / warehouse space in South Austin. We collaborated with Laine (a fellow architect) on the event design and helped her along with all the wedding planning stages. Keeping the flowers to a minimum to be as cost effective as possible, we piled on pillar candles along long white tables, with the bride’s menu design atop an all-white place setting, and crisp black ribbon. Her flowers, however, saw deep plums, ochre, copper, combined with greenery, whites, caramel, and butter yellow. Tied with the always perfect (it is) black and white ribbon …. I was a big fan.
Needless to say, these instagram images don’t really show the real deal. We’ll let you know when the final photography comes around!
