Hi, I'm elizabeth.

I’ve stumbled across a handful of Canadian-based artists and artisans recently and will be sure to feature more in the coming days. However. This wedding is one that I’ve been slyly keeping my eye out for – Juli and John are the writers of Kitka Design blog in Toronto, and owners of the store Mjolk in the Junction neighbourhood, which specializes in Scandinavian and Japanese design. Warning, you’ll want to take most of their wares home. I have to ration my trolling or else I get overwhelmed and can’t decide. You know, if I didn’t live in Austin, a country apart. And could buy everything they have. Sigh. [Their store is right down the street from my sister’s house and I can’t believe I haven’t been yet. You know, that whole ‘country apart’ business.]

Back to the wedding-ness. They suddenly found themselves in the same predicament that many of us do when planning a wedding: everything appropriate is way out of budget, or else, uninspiring. The two realized that holding their wedding in their store made the most sense — and that they did, this past January. It’s the stuff that “cozy and intimate dinner party” dreams are made of. So refreshing.

I love this next one.

Congratulations you two, and I hope we meet sooner than later.
