Finally! Isabelle and Andrew’s wedding this past August was one that took on the Texas heat and came out beautifully. These two came to me in July looking for personal flowers for the bridal party and family, an altar installation, and a way to re-purpose the bouquets for decor at the reception later that evening at downtown restaurant.

We ended up going with greens, blues, purples and a splash of yellow route—with plenty of succulents and sedum to withstand the heat, and a lot of texture. A ribbon wall in the similar graded palette provided the backdrop and swayed in the much appreciated breeze. I found some unglazed porcelain vases at West Elm that complimented the modern-yet-rustic aesthetic of reception venue to repurpose all of the bouquets later that night.

An afternoon ceremony at the outdoor Chapel Dulcinea was a small, incredibly intimate and touching — Andrew’s grandmother [Grammy – who is available for hire, and an absolute sweetheart. She also heads up the bridal registry at Breed & Co, an Austin institution.] led them through a sweet and humor-filled service. It was a testament to their family and friends who were willing and joyful to attend, even in the searing 100+F heat.

Nessa K and her man Josh did an incredible job capturing the day— which continued on with an evening reception at Malverde, the swanky upstairs bar/restaurant for La Condesa. From the looks of Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop’s dessert spread, the evening was bound to be a good one.
