Inspired By London Artist Zadok Ben-David

One of our upcoming April weddings has a large installation piece, so I’ve been inspired by installation art a lot lately. During my undergrad I made some small-scale installation pieces, and was pleased to make the fabric streamer backdrop for Jessa & Brian’s wedding back in 2011 as my first assignment with The Nouveau Romantics. But I definitely haven’t made anything as amazing as this piece, “Blackfield”, by London-based artist Zadok Ben-David.

“Blackfield” is comprised of 10,000+ hand-painted (!!!) cut steel flowers, peeking out of a thin layer of sand. One side is painted black, while the other side bursts with color. I can only imagine how amazing it would be to witness the transition in person, and to study the detail up close. After seeing the incredible detail in “Blackfield”, our installation piece will be a piece of cake. (Pun absolutely intended.) Blackfield // Zadok Ben-David // inspired by

When we received word that the mother of the groom was set on using The Adolphus Hotel in Dallas as the scene for the welcome dinner for guests of C & C’s late January wedding, we were beyond excited. We’ve been huge fans of the elegant, light-filled 19th Floor Ballroom (also known as The Governor’s […]

As one of the first and often most important decisions, your venue sets the tone for both your wedding as well as your to-do list for your planning journey. While your venue may or may not be the same for both your ceremony and reception, there are practical considerations such as inclusions (rentals, etc) or […]
