Eamon Mac Mahon

Canadian photographer Eamon Mac Mahon captures my beautiful land so so well. And as it sits here in Austin – grey, and raining, and reminding me a little of winters on the Pacific West Coast – I relish Mr. Mac Mahon’s abililty to capture the simple beauty that abounds up north. There’s something about the subdued tones that really remind me of those winters [and makes me want to snuggle up with some tea and a book]. Must be that time of year!

Local Folks // Paige Newton Photography

I had the delightful task of meeting up with Paige Newton a couple of weeks back to let her camera into the studio.  Her series on local maker’s and their spaces are always fascinating to me — how and where people work, their aesthetics as it translates to space, et al. Long story short, the profile is already up on her blog! Here’s a snippet, with the full post over here. [Also! Gus Gus, the unofficial-official-lady-loving canine mascot. He's mesmerized by an oversized tennis ball in most shots. Hence, well behaved.]

Also – did you see the little interview over on Lotte & Bloom on me and my super secret powers?

Ribbons and Bows [+ a cake]

After perusing Angela Liguori’s blog — whom I’d heard of a number of times via talk of her delightful ribbons and trimmings — I noticed this post with a simple cake, burlap (or any kind of extra rustic fabric could do beautifully) and tied with one of her signature ribbons. Simple, unfussing, but stunning. It’s no secret that I love ribbons and trims galore [I have three bursting boxes of them, and multiplying] so this is exactly up my alley.

Back in the blogging seat as we approach our last wedding of the fall season, at least until New Years. I’m looking forward to recouping and getting a start on some projects — including a much needed update of the ol’ website. So many new images from all of the events this year! We have some great stuff brewing, so stay tuned…
